Famous Grouse sponsored the pre-dinner drinks reception and to accompany a ‘dram’, a ‘wee dash o’ Scottish Water’ was needed so i2detail convinced Scottish Water to become the main sponsor for this worthwhile event - the perfect match.
Grant and Scott had kept diaries during their strenuous trip. To personalise the auction, beautiful bespoke parchment scrolls with each day’s diary extracts were created, personally signed by both Detectives to accompany each of the bottles of whisky auctioned.
i2detail prepared the budget, assisted with table sales, prepared the event collateral and provided the financial reconciliation post-event.
The Water of Life Challenge raised in excess of £20,000 for Edinburgh Sick Kids.
“On behalf of Scott and I, thank you both for making Friday such a success. Your professionalism and organisational skills, allied to your positive outlook undoubtedly made the whole thing a fantastic occasion for all concerned. I know the Sick Kid’s are delighted, and Scott and I feel the same way. Thanks a million.”
DC Grant Wilson, Lothian & Borders Police
Edinburgh Detectives, DC Grant Wilson & DC Scott MacKay were inspired to raise funds for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh following their involvement in a case where a baby girl was sensitively treated by staff. The men were touched by their miraculous work and conceived the “The Water Of Life Challenge”. They cycled 1,515 miles visiting every Scottish whisky distillery.
i2detail was asked by the Detectives to organise the fundraising event to auction Grant and Scott’s very special collection of bottles of whisky gathered on their tour.
